GREAT NEWS! We are excited to welcome Mr. Tommy Nguyen as our new 6th and 7th grade mathematics teacher. Mr. Nguyen arrives to us with over four years experience as a middle school teacher at Beverly Vista Middle School, in Beverly Hills Unified School District. While our hiring process took nearly a month to finish we believe our process will provide the most qualified teacher for our school.
As we move forward with Common Core instruction we recognize the need to reduce class sizes to help with our instructional shift. Over the next few days we will process students to reduce class sizes in our 6th and 7th mathematics classes. Students will be selected randomly and they will receive new schedules for newly balanced classes on Monday.
Below is a chart illustrating the moves we are processing:

Your understanding and support is appreciated as we begin these changes to afford students the opportunity to experience academic success in instructionally rigorous learning environments.
Thank you for being an active participant in your child’s education, we look forward to your continued support throughout the 2014-2015 school year
Over the past few years our office has received a few requests for some form of drama club. Although we had some student interest, our ability to find an advisor was difficult.
This program presented by a “pay-to-play” provider, hosts several programs throughout TUSD. The proposed “Watch Me Act” program sounds promising, and we are providing information for anyone interested.
If you have additional questions please feel free to call Caryn at 310-532-5992 or check out the web address at watchmeact.com. (Or Click Here for flyer)
Finally, we are trying to gauge our community’s interest and anticipate program needs.
So, if your child would be interested in participating in this program please reply to this email indicating “We’re interested.”
